The company was born in 1997 and started out as a commitment to realizing a lifelong dream in making movies and taking stunning photos. In the early days PMP created slide shows for customers already having numerous photographs of memorable occasions in their lives that they wanted burned to DVD. Shortly thereafter followed the additional offering of converting VHS tapes to DVD format. This went on for about 1 year until some prospects began enquiring on photographs and video of their wedding day.
The company learned to adapt to customer needs very quickly. The early productions were filmed in standard definition with 4:3 aspect ratios. Our staff had to undergo training for photography as well as videography. Precious Memories Productions invested in video cameras as well as photo cameras and rapidly got to grips with most of the popular editing software used in the industry.
Today the company owns four modern HD video cameras, three older generation SD video cameras and some top of the range full-frame 32 MP photo cameras.
However the main reason for the continued success of this company is a driving passion by its entire staff to find ways of capturing delightful memories of people’s lives in an artful style.
While it is true that Precious Memories Productions has its roots in wedding videography and wedding photography, Precious Memories Productions has already embraced the filming of birthdays, new born photography, pregnancy photoshoots as well as family photo shoots. The company has been involved with matric farewell dances, ballet dancing and choir competitions and even the filming of funerals.
In an ever changing and demanding market the company sees a challenging future in terms of entering the corporate market place and aims at developing product training videos, industrial induction training videos and corporate events.
We see an exciting future filled with new opportunities including a move from documentary style videography to cinematography style film making.
